Level Up- a Transition Program is designed for individuals registered with UCF CARD, ages 18-24, to provide intervention to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) leaving high school moving onto adulthood to successfully become self-dependent with necessary employment skills and increased self-management. Level Up will develop an easy to follow curriculum for “adulting” while piloting an instructional component paired with practical applications to practice skills in natural environments. To increase motivation, the program will feature a gamification themed around the Game of Life. Participants will learn to use technology to support their own independence. It will include virtual and face-to-face sessions as well as quests that participants will complete between sessions to move themselves forward toward Adult Acres, where they will be gainfully employed and living independently. As they progress, they will earn rewards delivered through technology.
This program meets spring and fall semesters every other week.
