The Hanen More Than Words® program is for children ages 2-7 who are nonverbal or minimally verbal. The program is based on the theory that says that language develops as a result of how children interact with others, especially caregivers. According to this theory, if parents learn to be more responsive to their children, they can create opportunities for children to communicate as part of everyday activities.

More Than Words® provides parents with tools to increase communication and social skills in natural context during daily routines. The More Than Words program is led by a Hanen certified Speech Language Pathologist with expertise in ASD. The program is 12-13 weeks long, and includes 8 parent education sessions and three virtual or home coaching sessions with the parents and child.  PALS supports UCF-CARD in delivering this program.
