SKILL BUILDING PROGRAMS

Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often find social situations challenging. Many find it difficult to make–and most importantly–keep friends. Some individuals struggles with self-advocacy skills and coping with difficulties. PALS social enhancement programs work on understanding what other people are thinking and feeling, understanding facial expressions and body language, how to react in new social situations, solving problems, the unwritten social rules and other complicated social situations for someone with ASD. PALS facilitators provide an accepting, inviting atmosphere to learn social skills using strategies that may include role-play, video modeling, self-management techniques, and more.

PALS Program Application

“TAG has been a wonderful opportunity for our daughter. It has helped her mature and it has helped her social skills. It has taught her day-to-day life skills that she has not had the opportunity to learn in school. She has made some wonderful friends with this group. They keep in touch and even get together outside of the scheduled TAG meetings and activities. They have created a great friendship that will last for years ahead.”

“We feel blessed to have found this opportunity for our daughter and we highly recommended it for your child.”

“TAG has made an impact on me. It has taught me a lot of social skills, some minor, and some major, that have helped me in daily life.”
